The IMPRESA project organized an international conference at the FAO headquarters in Rome on 4th November 2016 to disseminate its results and discuss its conclusions. Around 60 participants attended. The audience was drawn from academia and other institutions, representing interests in policy, agricultural research and innovation, agricultural economics and related areas. Members of the project's Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) attended and contributed to the conference as discussants. The conference conclusions will be incorporated into existing draft project reports during the final phase of IMPRESA, which concludes at the end of December 2016.
The programme contained presentations on the key insights emerging from the three main fields of project work:
- Data and trends in European agricultural science
- Lessons of case studies of science-based innovation
- Quantitative analysis of agricultural science impacts
A Research and Policy Brief on each of these fields was introduced, and a poster session provided more in-depth insights into the six case studies as well as quantitative impact analysis.
The conference also saw the initial screening of an IMPRESA film focusing on three case studies on science-based innovations from Bulgaria, Germany and Italy.
